The Greening of America

In my opinion the biggest question entering 2009 is will Barack Obama  be true to his word and invest in green technologies to the extent he promised he would during the presidential campaign? If he is a man of his word and billions upon billions of dollars are invested in the ‘greening’ of America it would easily change the landscape of the U.S. economy as we know it. The expansion of existing companies that create energy in an environmentally friendly way would be enormous and new companies would surely be formed to support this expansion. Not only would millions of jobs be created, but the entire infrastructure of the United States, which needs a much needed upgrade, would benefit. It simply is a win-win situation.

  1. I can tell you this, the shear scope of what is about to happen on the 20th of January will confound you all. I have participated from the beginning in green economy and even I get lost in its very enormity.

  2. Definitely right, but the USA green infrastructure is a culmination of legislation, NGOs, business and others working in conjunction to create a healthy, low carbon economy.

Obama will play a legislative role, but it’s up to citizens, business, NGOs and civil society to continue to urge Obama Administration on.
